Alcohol
The problem with alcohol is that our liver converts it to fat.
This makes us fat, and over time makes us sick – death, strokes, dementia, heart attacks etc etc.
Health authorities are down on alcohol. The NHMRC state no more than two standard drinks of alcohol per day for men and women.
The American Heart Association state that women should not have more than one drink per day. And in their discretionary calorie guidelines if you drink one glass of alcohol daily that is approx 2-3 teaspoons of sugar less per day you may have.
When we drink alcohol it seems we don’t less food to compensate. That is what gives men a beer belly:
“……..total dietary caloric intake increases with the amount of alcohol consumption, which likely explains the weight gain phenomenon” Wikipedia.
Read the NHMRC alcohol guidelines. They are long, and will take maybe 20 seconds to download.
If this is true we should all know about it.
PS It is true.
Summary – consume minimum alcohol until you have got your weight and other health parameters into the healthy range.
